Sam and andy moved from london 11 years ago and in to “space towers” 6 years ago. They planned to rent the shop and live upstairs but when they were refurbishing it, they fell in love with the “Space”.
Sam & Andy: After 6 years we’re lucky to have artists approach us. We know what we like and we like what we know. This means we’re lucky enough to be able to hand pick what we show and tell. We’ve shown everything from street art to live sculpture and hosted events as diverse as live performance art, a knitting exhibition, vintage clothing markets, live music, DJ nights and pop up restaurants.

Commercial vs Independent: We are 100% a commercial gallery. We are also 100% independent, which means we have a choice. We make our income from a mix of rental income and sales commission along with new revenue from our recently opened bar (and planned b and b “space to stay”) this leave use free to curate shows for artists we like from time to time on a less commercial basis.
Folkestone Community: We engage with our community first hand, old and new, visiting and resident. it’s a social business, we like nice people, most everyone that comes in to space are nice!
Local: local business is for life, not just for christmas, we should support each other, it’s kind to each other and to the planet.
